How Will The 49ers Utilize Tank Carradine?

All signs point to Tank Carradine making his debut with the 49ers on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.  Carradine, the 40th player selected in the 2013 draft, was promoted from the PUP list on October 29th.  From the time he was selected there have been some questions around exactly what role the 49ers envision for him.

My take on the situation is that Carradine is looked at as the eventual replacement for Justin Smith at defensive end in the 49ers base 3-4 defense, and primarily at defensive tackle in the Nickle and Dime pass rush sets.

Matt Miller, the lead NFL Draft Writer for Bleacher Report has put together a nice piece regarding Carradine, and showing why this likely the best option for Carradine.  You can check out the link below.

My only question is who does Carradine replace on the 46 man game day roster?  The likely candidates are Tony Jerod-Eddie, or Quinton Dial.  Notice I did not include Demarcus Dobbs.  Unlike Jerod-Eddie and Dial, Dobbs has a role on special teams that makes his inclusion on game day more likely.

Who do you think will be the odd man out?
